Branding Rationalé
Design Objective: Design a new logo, website, menu and social media posts for the restaurant La Tejanita.
The client is the restaurant La Tejanita, located in Waukesha, WI. At their restaurant, they serve authentic homestyle Mexican food for the general public and also host small events. They also cater for special events. The English translation of La Tejanita is “little girl from Texas.”
The target audience are families and couples residing in the city of Waukesha and its neighboring cities. They enjoy spending their time at upscale casual restaurants where they can socialize and enjoy the upbeat, casual atmosphere while eating authentic Mexican food. The purpose of their new branding is to inform, persuade and make a memorable impression to their audience to promote the restaurant and encourage Waukesha residents to visit their restaurant.
Design Solution: The artwork included is minimalistic confetti, representing the upbeat atmosphere of the restaurant. Repetition of the confetti throughout the formats helps give consistency throughout the branding. Different images using similar color palettes and photography styles of their food are used throughout their website and social media to help bring a sense of unity to the brand. The color scheme includes different bright colors, mimicking a Mexican fiesta. Pink is used throughout to tie into the feminine name of the restaurant “little girl from Texas.” The decorative font of the logo represents the playful, feminine name of the restaurant sans serif fonts throughout the menu, website and social media posts represents the casualness of their restaurant. These fonts appeal to the audience because it provides a sense of an upbeat yet casual atmosphere.
